Cuba: power plug adapter type

You planning for a trip to Cuba , to discover the beautiful places in Cuba , but you will have a doubt  about if your appliances will work there or not , because the multi voltages can makes you confusing . So what you need to know about the using of your appliances in Cuba ? 

The Electricity in Cuba  :

  • The Cuba standard voltage is    : 110 /220 V
  • Cuba standard frequency is : 60 HZ
  • The cuba power plugs types are : A , B , C and L

The power plugs and sockets in Cuba

There are three associated plug types in Cuba, the plug A, B, C, and L. The plug type A is, the plug which has two flat parallel pins, is mainly used in Central America, Japan, and China. And this socket only works with plug A.

  •  The plug type B is the plug which has two flat parallel and a grounding pin, and this socket also works with plug A.
  • And the plug type C is the plug which has two round pins , and also known as the standard Euro plug. This plug socket also works with plug E and plug F .
  • Finally, the plug type L which has three round pins, this plug type is of Italian Origin . And this socket also works with plug C.

The voltage and frequency in Cuba

     The standard voltage in Cuba is 110 / 220 V and the Standard frequency is 60 Hz. Be careful, In Cuba more There are more than one voltage (110 / 220 V). Depending on the city, the region or even the hotel which voltage you will come across. And you cannot use your appliances if the local voltage exceeds the maximum voltage of your appliances. You will need a voltage converter!

      And if the local voltage is less than that in your own country, you will need a voltage converter as well. Some Think you can carefully try to use your appliances in Cuba without a converter. But most likely they won’t be damaged, If you don’t want to take any chances, you can use a converter.

       In other hands, if the frequency in Cuba (60 Hz) differs from the one in your country, it is not advised to use your equipments. If there is no voltage difference, you could try to use the appliance at own risk for a short time.

The converters and transformers in Cuba

     The supply voltage in Cuba is 110/220V. If the equipment or its power supply are not dual voltage rated, the voltage appliance will have to be used alongside a voltage transformer or converter to allow the appliance to work properly and safely  , unless the appliance operates at 110V or 220V.

      And if this is not the case it should be used alongside a voltage transformer or converter to allow the appliance to work safely and properly.
