  There are three associated plug types in Cambodia, A, C and G. The plug type A which has two flat parallel pins, mainly used in The central and North America, Japan and China and this socket only works with plug A .

   The electricity supplies the all world can vary from anything between 100V and 240V. And it can be Very dangerous to use an electrical appliance that is rated at a voltage different from the supply.

   The voltage can differ from country to country, you will need to use a voltage converter or transformer during your vocation in Cambodia. And if the frequency is different, the normal operation of an electrical appliance may also be affected.

    In other hands, if the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100V-127V as in the United state of America, Canada and countries in South America you will need a voltage converter in Cambodia. But without a converter, you will damage you electronic equipment.

      The converters and transformers perform a similar function, but their applications different. Converters are usual used with appliances that operate for a short duration (1-2hours), whilst most transformers can be used alongside appliances that operate continuously.

   The transformers could have a much lower maximum Watt rating, usually 50 or 100. The transformers can often used constantly and provide better electricity for low wattage appliances like battery chargers, radios, laptop computers, cameras, mp3 players and camcorders.

    And if you do not own any dual-voltage appliances, and don’t want to buy any, you can buy voltage converter for your single-volt appliances.

    The voltage converter attach to your electrical devices and regulate the electrical current coming out of the outlets that use 220v, without a voltage converter , your single-volt appliances are a safety hazard. They will not work, and may cause a fire. And if you want to buy a voltage converter  for the single-volt appliances you are bringing with you to Cambodia , find the wattage rating on the appliances.
